Resume Section Complete

This past weekend I just finished up the resume section of this site.  I'm very happy out it came out.  Below are some of my thoughts on the final outcome.

On Blocks

The block with the resume in three file types is useful.  I like how the professional summary looks in the block.  Moving the education and awards to blocks on the left looks nice and brings them more in to view without taking away from the main content, my work experience.  What I really like is the ability to quickly update the content of the block right from the page as I get more education/certificates or experience to put in my professional summary.

On Workflow

The gem of this section of this section is really unseen.  Updating my resume is a constant process and I was looking for a better way to do that on my site.  I created a content type "work experience" with some custom fields and through some views magic I have exactly what I was looking for.  I can quickly add my latest work experience just like any other content type and views magically formats and displays it for me.

Next...

I will be adding some more custom fields to the work experience content type for employer website, maybe an image, and maybe looking to integrate linked in some more.

This has been a fun project and great introduction to Drupal 7.
